Things I learned from Amazons Attack

1. It IS possible in a six-issue mini-series to have more than six "Final Confrontations" between Diana and Hippolyta.

2. Zatanna and her mind-wipes are superfluous now that we have targeted killer wasp stings to erase knowledge of secret identities. Personally, I was hoping for a reversion to Superman-movie era Amnesia Inducing Kisses, but we can't have everything.

3. Amnesia works not just for revealed secrets, but for things that you easily figured out on your own.

4. If you dress up like another character, you get to use all of her powers also.

5. Four magical shape-shifters in one mini-series is two too many.

6. Although it would have been fun if they all pretended to be Sgt. Steel at the same time.

7. Wasn't Donna Troy off searching for Diana at some point in the middle there? Did she just get a case of ADD and forget all about the war?

8. Apparently that Lazarus-Pit crazy-making thing happens to you even if you are re-incarnated some other way.

Live and learn.

I'm just going to throw this out there, but as ham-handed as the final issue was, from Nemesis' mindblank to absolutely no pay off regarding the fight set up at the end of the previous issue, to Grace's Bana heritage denied in the previous issue only to be re-established in the Outsiders issue, and to having Granny Goodness the mastermind behind all the wackiness, and not to mention best-selling writer Picoult quietly disappearing from the main WW title in the middle of the event...

Maybe, just maybe...

DC changed horses mid-event and altered the final two issues of the series in order to tie things into Final Crisis.

Nothing about this series made sense, including the half-baked excuses given for why just about anything occurred.

Absolutely wretched miniseries and a terrible direction for the Wonder Woman comics.

Hi League.

It's nice to think that maybe things were changed in the middle, but since there weren't any delays in any of the issues, I can't imagine there was time.

I'm holding out for Nemesis taming a killer wasp to keep as a pet, though.

You know, you're right, Ragtime. And the notion that they DID plan this out is a far, far more terrifying thought than a mid-stream change of directions. I think I was just trying to wrap my mind around what I'd just read and was trying to figure out how this could have gone so very, very wrong.

I can only hope we get to see a whole lot more mystical bees. My god, the gripping drama of... bees. Hopefully bees will become the new gorillas of the superhero comic world.
