Stupid Questions #3

Asking the really stupid questions so you don't have to!

A:
Superman, Catwoman, Batgirl, Superboy, Aqualad

B: Plastic Man, Wonder Woman, Power Girl, Ultra Boy, Lightning Lad

Is there a rule on when the gender identity is joined with the rest of the name, and when it is separate?

And, you forgot hyphenated names such as Spider-Man, Spider-Woman and Ant-Man. Is it because insect-based heroes merritt a hyphen (Yes, yes...I know spiders are not insects, but you get my point).

See, I figured the hyphen was just code for "Created in the 1960s".

And then there's the capital letter in the middle of the name, like DareDevil. I thought that and the hyphen were put in to make new writers crazy as they tried to put several heroes into a new comic.

Hi Tamora!

Hmm. Complicated spelling as a rite of passage is an interesting idea, but if that were the goal, I could see them going sooo much further! SpYder-Man marries SpiederWomyn and have a Spiderbaby, perhaps. One typo, and you're off the book.

Unexpected interim capital letters also struck me as saying, "I have a hip internet site that you should visit," so I can't explain DareDevil, at all.
