How far behind are you?
Do you buy comics or trades thinking you'll get to them later?
Do you then do it again before you get to "later"?
I counted this weekend. Including individual issues and trades, my backlog is 81 comics high.

I have Cancer Vixen and The Goon from the library, about 15 floppies, Loveless trade, and about 20 other random comics I've never gotten to. If I had any vaca time left I'd have to schedule a day off to get through them.
81- wow, that's like a few hundred dollars worth.
Hi, Redlib:
Not quite that bad!
I counted, for example, Batman Chronicles Vol. 2 as 10 issues (Detective 39-45, Batman 2-3, World's Fair #2), and I only paid about $10 for it.
In fact, the more I pay, the more likely I am to read it promptly, so there are very few $2.99+ single issues in the pile. (Haven't quite gotten up the energy to read "Man-Bat #5", though. Yawn.)
Hi Ragtime,
How far behind are you?
I just returned a bunch of trades (about 20) to the library because I couldn't even manage to read my pull list, much less anything else. It's been a busy semester :\ Plus I still have Starman, Seven Soldiers, Queen and Country, Global Frequency, and Hellboy to work through.
*sigh*
busy, busy, busy.
Ciao,
Amy
Well, I don't do trades. What can I say, I'm a purist to the floppy form. It's so classic and retro. :)
As for how far behind I am, that depends on if you count older back issues.
If not, then I have only 8 new issue from last week yet to read. If you do, then i'm behind by about... oh, say... 1,300 comics, from all the stuff I've bought at shows and various comic shops I stop into. So, it's either not that bad, or REALLLY bad. ;)
1,300 is pretty good.
I've got a cousin who collects LPs (records) and will often buy boxes full at garage sales. I once asked him if he had listen to them all.
"Oh, not even close," he said.
"How far behind are you? A dozen? A hundred?"
"Sixteen feet."
He hadn't even counted them all yet to see how far behind he was. He just lined them all up and measured them.
I don't know how many comics I have here to read, but the stack is over a foot high.
